MakerVault ("the App") is developed and operated by 2296281 Alberta Inc. ("we", "us", or "our"). This privacy policy describes how we collect, use, and protect information when you install and use the MakerVault app on your Shopify store.

  • Order and subscription information
  • Download activity within the App

This data is collected solely to provide the App's core functionality: managing design file subscriptions, licensing, and download access.

How We Use Your Data

We use the data collected to:

  • Authenticate merchants and provide access to the App dashboard
  • Manage customer subscriptions and licensing tiers
  • Control access to design file downloads based on active subscriptions
  • Process license applications from customers
  • Display revenue and subscriber analytics to the merchant

We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

Data Storage and Security

All data is stored securely on our servers hosted by Fly.io. We use industry-standard encryption for data in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and follow security best practices for data at rest. Access to customer data is restricted to authenticated merchants through Shopify's secure authentication system.

Data Retention

We retain merchant and customer data for as long as the App is installed on the merchant's store. When a merchant uninstalls the App, we delete all associated store and customer data within 30 days, in compliance with Shopify's data protection requirements.

GDPR and Data Subject Rights

We comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other applicable privacy laws. Customers have the right to:

  • Access their personal data held by the App
  • Correct inaccurate personal data
  • Delete their personal data
  • Export their personal data in a portable format

To exercise any of these rights, customers should contact the merchant (store owner) directly. Merchants can submit data deletion or access requests through the App, and we will process them promptly.

We respond to Shopify's mandatory compliance webhooks for customer data requests, customer data erasure, and shop data erasure.

Cookies and Tracking

The MakerVault App does not use cookies or tracking technologies beyond what is required by Shopify for embedded app authentication.

The App relies on the following third-party services:

  • Shopify – for authentication, billing, and store integration

Each of these services has its own privacy policy governing their handling of data.
